Training the Trainers
In order to maximise the effectiveness of our Smarter Smiles Oral Health Promotion Service we provide ‘Train the trainer’ sessions for various groups who work with children and/or adults within deprived populations, those adults who struggle to access dental services as well as children and adults with additional needs.
These sessions empower service providers throughout Cornwall to provide in-house training to their own staff, to deliver oral health promotion to reach a wider population.

Accreditation Programme for Schools
At Smarter Smiles we have created an accreditation programme for schools to encourage and raise awareness of better oral health for early years, primary age children and their families. Introducing small changes in the school environment can have a huge impact on a child’s learnt behaviours, which could last a lifetime. Becoming an Oral Health Accredited School will show understanding and commitment to children’s oral health and wellbeing.
Our Smarter Smiles dental care professionals will provide training for staff to set up the programme together with support and resources to enable them to reach desired awards.
